Is it bad to have too many custom wall textures?

No, It does not matter how many wall textures that you have. The only thing that should matter is if they work correctly or not.
 
Indeed. Not to mention customized textures tend to add a bit of originality to levels. As long as they're actually used in the level(s), anyway.
 
Neither the TEXTURE1 lump nor the PNAMES lump have any bounds to them (at least, none we're bound to hit), so the sky's likely the limit. Just don't mess up the TEXTURE1 lump, or else, well, you're screwed.
 
It's very hard to put in custom textures. You're better off replacing existing textures. :|
 
Ahh so make a texture 2 lump. Cuz I try adding in my own walls and I allways get errors like blue wall not etc....
 
IIRC, it automatically appends textures onto TEXTURE1 for you. Just add the textures there and they should be available for use, without messing up TEXTURE1 at all.

Also, GCFreak... no. Just no. Adding new textures may be a hassle but it's far better than messing up every other map by replacing official textures.
