Internet Hosting Problem

How come when me or my friend host a game we can't see or join each others game even with trying with the ip address way. I know other people could see mine because they joined. We do have the same version so I know that is not the problem. The advertise on internet was enabled. I did search and couldn't find a solution. Okay, thanks. So at the add application part I don't know what to put in the boxes, and whether I have to put TCP or UDP.

Then why don't you read the manual?

SRB2 uses ports 5029 and 5030 for network communication using the UDP protocol.

Same problem here, but I forwarded my ports and it didn't work.

Thanks, I didn't even know there was one.
So on the port checker tool, at the bottom of the page in my link above. What number do I put in, do I put 5029. That is the number I used. I tried that number and it said the port # is not open or reachable.
