I'm sure you know I've been working on a Rouge wad...

Well, if you didn't, now you do.

I'm creating this topic for a few reasons. First to show that I'm not making idle comments about work I haven't done. Second, I'm creating this so that skepticism may be avoided. I'm proving I'm working on one. Third, because I feel like it.

This topic is not a release of Rouge. It is a topic I am writing showing only a select few screenshots of Rouge. These screenshots were taken under what I consider the best circumstances in SRB2. Those circumstances being the use of PrettySRB2, Mystic Realm, and Blaze's palette, featuring a beautiful set of greens, in OpenGL.

I also would like to note that, while I am advancing in her development, she still has a ways to go. Hopefully, she will look better when I release her, as I am getting some assistance from a person I believe can help me with this, as he has already volunteered to do touch-up work on her, so I can focus more on design and accurate angles/transitions.

I would like to ask that you do not PM me asking about her, for betas, etc. I give out the file to people I feel should have it, or people I have legitimate business with. PMs or IRC requests will not get you this file, unless I have said specifically to you otherwise.

Some small information on her. I have given her the glide & climb ability. She can not spin. An atrocity? Maybe, but I have substituted that ability with multi-glide, and a faster gliding speed. She runs at a speed value of 34. She uses HIRES flag, so she is best used in PrettySRB2, which is completely compatible with SRB2 1.09.4, as PrettySRB2 has a HIRES bugfix for OpenGL mode.

Enjoy these teaser screenshots. Who knows? I may come back later and add more...
Comments and thoughts are welcome.

The REDWALL in the 13th shot ain't pretty, but your sprites sure are. It looks much better than SA-Knux. Good Job DorkWarrior.

The purple on the wings is a little to bright, and the gliding sprite looks funny, but other than that this is much better looking than that sprite from way back when.

Have you thought of replacing the spindash with her kick attack from Sonic Adventure 2 Battle? Not as a hold/release move, but as one used while running.

Thank you for the positive feedback. In answer to your responses/questions:

The purple on the wings is a little to bright, and the gliding sprite looks funny

Unfortunately, those sprites are using the darkest shade of purple from SRB2, so there's not much I can do to actually fix that. And the gliding sprites are actually animated, one looks a tad odd, one looks fine, and they work nicely together.

1.What part of her will change colour?
2.Who is the person that is helping you?

1) The color that changes is the purple color. She actually uses the pink range of colors in the sprite, because there's a glitch with the palette and color conversion.
2) If he wants to say, he may, but I won't. People in #SRB2Fun know, though...

As far as I'm aware, that's not possible without the use of SOCs, something I generally avoid using if at all possible.

Are these rip sprites.

Yes, to some degree. They are edited to fit into SRB2's palette, not just imported into XWE. Meaning I'm doing a lot of work on actually fitting them in.

Because the method I'm using is the same method I used for SAKnux. Rip the sprites from the game, color them to fit into SRB2. Only, I do think this is turning out better than SAKnux...

Yeah, it must be hard. Cleaning the sprites and changing its palette. Its probally harder than making one from sratch, well that depends.

It depends on what you're capable of, really. For me, this is easier, because I can't draw to save my life. If I could draw, I might have done it from scratch. However, this method does make it so you're forced to notice little details and issues. If you can't be bothered with minor issues, then this can be a pain.

Heh, not bad, not bad at all. When you get done with Rouge, are you going to do anyone else? I'd certainly like to see a Sonic or a Shadow. If you do, the rest of the sprites won't look so akward.

Again, keep up the good work.

There is no SA2 for PC. I'm running an SA2 disc image on DAEMON tools, playing with Chanka, and using Fraps for the screenshots I need.
