ok i will make a tutorial about this i know someone already did this but i will post with images too
step 1 you need to make a folder in game files named sf2
step 2 you need a sf2 here a link to knuckles chaotix sf2 https://musical-artifacts.com/artifacts/1385 you can change the file name too i change because it wasnt working
step 3 open srb2 go to options sound options and let the midi on
step 4 (final) go to advanced options (in sounds options) and put
sf2/you file name.sf2 and change native to fluidsynth
and after this the game music will change
mods with midi works too like
hey stinky(mario)
but sa2 sonic dont work (because inst midi)
