How are 3D models made for SRB2?

So I'm making a little something and I'd like to find a way to replace specifically the default trees with a custom 3D model, such as one in the style in Minecraft. The problem is I have no idea how to, and many of the scarce online tutorials for 3D modelling in SRB2 are either too vague or do not fit my needs. I have Slade, and have a miniscule understanding of how it works, but knowing how to import your own custom 3D models would be a lifesaver.

Make a 3D model, use an MD3 exporter, and export the md3 to the models folder directory. That's the best advice I can give.
or you can just pre-render the tree sprites your choice

Thanks! I'll try this out.

Having a problem with textures after converting FBX to MD3, could I just texture bake?
