Seeing how old this file is, I have got around making improvements here and there. Let me show you what I mean.

The old topic for this is old, so I'm just going to put this here.
(THIS MAY BECOME MORE THAN A SIMPLE SPRITE REPLACEMENT.)

NOTE : Look at my 2nd post from me for Texture Screens.

The old name for this file was Sprite_Update_X, which I'm sure you heard of it.

The new name? Well... look at the title.

Wind Shield got a remake. (Ignore the gray lines.)

The Emeralds have been updated, also, they now move instead of appearing.

The numbers/life icons have been changed.

Item Boxes have been changed, along with the icons.

The "Oh my god, you got a Game Over." has been trashed.
Life icons are now the default ones.
The Pause is default.
The End Signs are default.
The cursor at the title screen is default.
The crosshairs are default.

Updatethe rest of the shields.
Change the angled springs.

-=Might do...=-
Replace some of the Textures.
Change the enemies.
Change the Special Stages. (Will match the Emeralds. Aka Green Emerald -> Forest Theme.)

I love the Emeralds!

Could you make 8-directional sprites for the monitors? I've seen that done in another graphic pack.
 
I seem to find a particular interest in how the HUD items changed, as well as the wind shield and item boxes.
Good job I say.
 
Great job, I use this a lot now. I really like the wind shield. I hope you do replace some of the more common textures.
 
I am now releasing a beta texture replacement, here's a run down.

The CEZ textures look nice. What's up with the little circle at the top left of the orange-ish GFZ textures, though? Looks a little strange.

Please, do merge them. It'll be hard digging for 2 WAD files on my SRB2 folder.
 
Eh, why don't you just use the SRB2 Net launcher? It's the easiest way to load a massive number of WAD's, because then you can just type the first 2 letters to the WAD to find it.
 
You could put again the goal ring as the end sign, Sonic Heroes style. That old Eggman sign is boring until the end.
 
I think you'll find it was the giant ring being used as the goal that became boring for about 8-9 years now, and even moreso as using a giant ring as the end goal was a rediculous idea in the first place imo, it was only ever used for bonuses, and suddenly making that the goal post was very random and just..what the hell.

I'm glad srb2 and Sonic & the black Knight have brought the signpost back, the sign post spinning was a fast way of ending the level and showed sonic's speed.
 
Ok, but who person doesn't like the ring at the end? Besides, S&BK give us a new and modern wood post with a emblem... I'm tired of that Eggman sign. Renovate or die!
 
My friend, you have just PWNED every single mod that comes your way.

Its only the HUD, but it looks awsome, so to say my granny might like it!

This is awesome. I can't download the Texture/Flats replacement though. I have a problem with SRB2FFH...
 
Not bad. Though try to center the Ring on the HUD so that the numbers aren't completely on one side of it. Other than that I say good job.
 
Currently, the first Special Stage has been made. It's theme is a GFZ like theme.

Here are the themes planned out.
Green Emerald -> GFZ/Forest Theme
Orange Emerald -> Earth/Sand Theme
Pink Emerald -> Sky Theme
Blue Emerald -> Water Theme
Red Emerald -> Fire/Lava Theme
Cyan Emerald -> Ice/Snow Theme
Gray Emerald -> Tech/Space Theme

Will post screens soon.

I cannot center the numbers, otherwise the -1- and 1-- will get blocked by the Ring Icon, they don't overlap the Ring Icon.
 
So the themes are based off of the Emerald colors?
That's pretty unique.
EDIT: I don't like the GFZ walls.

---<(READ THIS SO YOU KNOW WHAT TO DO!)>---
In order to use the Lighting Shield in the Special Stage, first hit an Invisible Box, then hit a Lighting Shield Box, this will allow you to use the Lighting Shield for a few seconds, once the Invisible Effect wears off, you will lose the Lighting Shield along with it, also it knocks you back a few spaces.

(For those who don't wanna read all that.)
1ST BREAK -> Invisible Box
2ND BREAK -> Lighting Box

Great, now how are you going to get those rings there?

Simple, you hit the Invisible Box, and then the Lighting Shield Box, since the Special Stage takes away the Lighting Shield upon getting it, but the Invisible Box allows you stack up with the Lighting Shield, giving you a Limited Time to collect those Rings. You can only get 2 groups of these Rings with the Invisible Lighting Shield combo, then you will need to break another set of these boxes.

Here is the proof, notice how the Group of Rings are coming towards Sonic.
 
Very nice. The special stages remind me of a combination of the Sonic Chaos Special Stages where you actually have a setting and gimmicks and the basic ring collecting ones.
