Don't reply to spambot posts

Replying to spambot threads is an exercise in futility. We've got them under control, and they are not a real problem. If you have the presence of mind to realize a post is made by a bot, then you already know better than to follow any of their links.

As such, it's not going to do you, nor the rest of us, any good to post requesting that a mod delete the thread or to say "omg bot kill it!!!!!" or any number of other replies. On the contrary, inflating reply count in spambot threads is only going to make more users likely read them, as people tend to gravitate more toward threads with replies than without.

Bot posts will be deleted on sight by mods or admins. Just let us handle them ourselves and they won't be a problem.

I was gonna post about this, but completely forgot bots existed. Oops. :X
Should we give warnings to those who ARE stupid enough to post in bot topics?

Hey! I posted in one but I said to ban it. I'm still stupid?

Because with more moderators, more people delete bot topics. Which means less of me sending Guard Dog Shuffle after them. :P

I know I won't post in a bot topic again, I'll just ask an admin/mod (in #srb2fun) if they saw that bot post. If that's alright.

I am so quoting that every time a bot comes along.

Hmm...Don't think I've even heard of bots around here, before. Thanks for the warning. I'll keep an eye out.

PS. Stop being rude, Shuffle.

Sorry for the Necromancy (Bump) (Although this is stickied) but a bot can be recognised if:

They have No Avatar (Bots don't put avatars on their username)
On the profile it Reads:
Joined: (Insert date here)
Total posts: (Either 0 or 1) [Higher then it's a vandal]
[?.??% of total / ?.?? posts per day]
Find all posts by (Insert Bot here)
Location: (USA or other actual country)
Website: (Insert Pornography site here)
Occupation: (Insert Job here)
Interests: (Insert interests here [Nothing to do with Sonic])
They always post a new topic in offtopic.
They never post in someone elses topic

Always check the profile of who sent it before looking at the topic. There was a time a bot posted a link that sent me to a virus site. :x

This makes it easier to spot if it is a spambot post without actually following their links. I'm not backseat moderating, I'm giving advice to newbies, (Not N00bs who speak Forum etiquette and "L33T" No offense  )

Offtopic: I got these fancy words from en.wikipedia.org. Mystic and FuriousFox (Both are Admins) seem to use them a lot in their posts.
