Combi-Rings Lock-On Pack Version 2

ok i got around to using this now and i have a question, is super sonic supposed to have some other gimmick besides looking really cool?
he transforms back at 0 rings sure, but he has the same stats as normal sonic and he isn't invincible at any point...
i'm not trying to downplay any of the work done on him but like does he exist specifically to make sonic look cool???

yeah,that makes sense,cuz super sonic is invincible in another games

he doesn't have any gameplay changes, he just has the aforementioned reverting back to sonic at 0 rings, and he also makes his rivals have animated super colors instead of their default ones in grand prix mode

oh ok, it would be nice to have a different gameplay thing where he's invincible until he runs out of rings, making the player have to conserve rings more than they normally would. but still really cool anyway

That’d be overpowered.

I feel like it’d be better if he had 9 speed and 3 weight, though. Just to make him unique in more ways than looks.

now that i think about it you're right lol
and 9 speed and 3 weight would be a good improvement too to make him more unique... though i'm not sure we'll be seeing patches for any of team combi rings' mods for a while since from what i can tell they start working on something right after they release a new mod
 
why are one of the cpu's super? when i play as super sonic? can i transform into my super form for someone like mecha sonic?
It's special behavior specific to Grand Prix. If you play as Super Sonic, the following CPUs will also turn Super (this is purely visual): Sonic, Shadow, Silver, Knuckles, Tails, Amy, Mighty, Ray, Metal Sonic, and Mecha Sonic.
 
QUESTION: Since I'm mainly here for Wild Woody, seeing as the best crossovers are deep cuts, are you OK with me separating him from the pack to use on his own?

i'm not sure team combi rings will respond to any questions at the moment, sorry. i say this because it seems like the moment this team finishes a mod and releases it (in vanilla srb2 cases along with the trailer), they immediately get to work on the next one without pausing for a sec to look at questions and/or feedback

You can do whatever with the mod as long as you don’t publicly share it.
 
I found a bug: if Super Sonic appears as a bot in your grand prix, whatever character you are playing as will erroneously get the emerald effect at the start of Battle and Sealed Star maps.

I believe I found an error on the Lua code for Super Sonic. I don't know anything about coding, but when I was looking at the code for this addon I noticed that certain Super Sonic colors select specific colors for Normal Sonic color when they lose all their rings. However, three of the five special Super Sonic colors weren't activating the Normal Sonic color they were supposed; those being: Mustard, Banana and Ketchup. In the image you can see that the code says: "When the Super Sonic color is Banana, the Normal Sonic color is going to be Navy". However, when playing the game the Normal Sonic color turns out to be a green color instead of Navy. I managed to solve this problem by removing these "double bars" at the start of the code of these Super Sonic colors, probably because these "bars" (from what I understood) are meant to be messages inside the code to help anyone looking into it by saying what line is supposed to do instead of having a proper function to the operation of the code. I hope that you guys can update it.

When playing as super sonic I found a bug where regular sonic is in the race with super sonic sprites when there blue and it only happens somtimes

I'm not sure how it happened but I'm hoping it's not hard for the team to fix.
 
I found a bug concerning interop between Super Sonic and characters that have the SF_IRONMAN flag, displayed in the attached video.

Long story short, when an ironman character (such as Heavy Magician) rolls Super Sonic, if they run out of rings at any point, they change into the actual Super Sonic, and cannot change back. They have to manually switch back to the ironman character they were using if they wish to keep swapping characters every lap.

With the size of the pack growing so much, I do think it’d be convenient to add individual options… it’s a lot of characters to add at once, and while I want to stress everyone’s done a great job here, I’d rather not have to load ‘joke’ characters like Weegee just to be able to use Akira, who feel like they fit base RR’s concept perfectly.
