The problem is that the falling a and b sprites are named KNUXA and KNUXB instead of KNUXa and KNUXb. I had the same problem when I made by fan char wad (no, I'm not releasing it). Just go into hex editor, or the new XWE and change the Capital A's and B's in the final flying sprites to a's and b's. As the wiki said:

You'll notice that the last two, PLAYa and PLAYb, are lowercase. That means that it's going to go like this:

PLAYa1
PLAYa2a8
PLAYa3a7
PLAYa4a6
PLAYa5
PLAYb1
PLAYb2b8
PLAYb3b7
PLAYb4b6
PLAYb5
and so on. Some WAD editors (mostly outdated) don't let you do that. To fix it, see Editors below.

Your character will not work correctly if you don't rename lumps needing lowercasing.
