This zoom tube here can be broken if you thok onto the right side of it.

The camera is above me, but it can't go through the floor, and I'm inside the Zoom tube.

As you can see, I am inside the Zoom Tube, but I can still move through it, and go as normal.
 
Sounds like you went far enough into the entrance sector that the game thought you were actually going backwards and didn't send you into the zoom tube...

Don't you just love SRB2's collision detection?
