Yes,a little bit of SRB2 history here, since Youtube has millions of SRB2 History videos which i truely got tired of.Anyways, everyone can reply with few parts of SRB2's History.

I will start with Demo 2.

So,in Demo 2,there was a secret Red Vulcano Zone remake that could be found in GFZ1 with Tails. If you jump onto the roof of the house in the part with a 1 up tunnel in GFZ1,you could meet RedXVI,the character first shown in Sonic Madventure, sending you to hell aka.Red Vulcano Zone.

That's not demo 2. That's final demo 1.09.4 and sinic had an emblem placed on that roof too. The house was also not hidden in a 1up tunnel.

Also, that was the current wip version of Red Volcano at the time.

As for that,i didnt said it was in the tunnel, and everyone would know that i was saying it as when you exited the tunnel.
As for Red Vulcano,i will agree that its WIP

IIRC the Final Demo versions were the last versions to include seasonal changes to zones depending on the time on your PC's calendar, such as Halloween or Winter. I don't know which version first introduced this, but I kinda wish it would get brought back in some form.

I mean, there is SeasonFlower Zone mod from *cough* stupid Gamebanana *cough*,but yea,it wont feel the same.

Here are 5 SRB2 history facts(i wanted 10 of them, but i dont wan to post all that much):

1.There are few songs that are in 2.2 which were meant for unused levels. One of them is a song for Red Vulcano Zone act 2, which is now in Infernal Cavern Zone (the match map) and Mine Maze Zone,a level found in SRB2 TGF.

2. Speaking of Multiplayer, there was a mode called Chaos Mode, where you endlessly battle against badniks. The more you defeat, the bigger score you get.The mode was cut but it was later remaked in 2.2 as a mod.

3. In 2.1 era, there was a remake of SRB1 which was an unlockable until 2.2's release, when they decided to scrap it. Luckly, the creator behing Rafael and Pedro character mods made a port of it for 2.2,and not only that, but Sonic Team Jr revealed that there will be a new official remake in future.

4. Through SRB2's history, there were multiple Super Mario levels, one named Mario Koppa(sorry if i spelled that word incorrectly,i havent played Mario games for a year or two) Blast, as well as a SMB1 1-2 remake in 2D. These 2 were eventually combined into Pipe Towers Zone we all know now.And then someone made a remake of it.

5. OLDC Contest had only 2 (or 3 i think) levels being added in Extra Levels, them being Frozen Hillside Zone and Halloween Heights Zone.

DylanDude has a playlist on Youtube which can answer all of your curiosities regarding the evolution of the game's stages.

It is essentially a playthrough of every stage in every version, including SRB1 (when it was a 2D game made in The Games Factory). It will take several hours to get through, but you can take note on how the engine itself likely evolved as the stages get bigger and more complex (for instance, the evolution of transparency).

but Sonic Team Jr revealed that there will be a new official remake [of SRB1] in future.
where did you hear about this? i haven't heard anything about an official remake of srb1's stages. there were one or two fan made remakes, sure, but not any official ones to my knowledge

The only official one was the unlockable in 2.0-2.1

Where did you even get this info?

Sounds to me like you may have gotten some bad info (misinformation) from the iceberg video. Demo 2 never had the RedXVI Red Volcano secret.

I see. I needed to type Final Deno 1.09.4 .Anyways, lets not argue about one misinformation entire time and focus on thread.

Lets talk a bit more on the SRB2's history:

1. SRB2 TGF was the earliest version of SRB2,however it is in 2D like its prequel,SRB1.It had 3 zones: Greenflower,Techno Hill and Deep Sea,as well as unused Mine Maze.

2. The earliest version of Egg Rock had the music which will be used for Orbital Hangar until 2.2's release.
Additional fact: SSNTails posted a beta version of Egg Rock on Youtube, showing a part where all badniks in the game (at the time) are in some sort of machines.

3.Altrough some of us see the SP zone lineup is complete,it isnt,as there are more zones that are yet to be released in future. Some of them are Doomship Zone and Dark City Zone.

4. SRB2 TGF was originally going to have cutscenes which make transtition from one zone to another. Those cutscenes can be found on SSNTails' channel.

5. Speaking of SSNTails, his youtube channel has lots of things from the past versions, such as SAGE 2000 trailer,SRB2 TGF cutscenes, and there is Sonikku Directs series (which maybe not have connection to SRB2 that much)

6. The SRB2 Christmas demo had an earliest recreation of a Sonic game in SRB2,that being Sonic Adventure.

7. In 2.0(maybe),during the credits, there is a Looney Tunes reference with Eggman on a ACME rocket and Sonic saying "Ding! Ding!"

8. (This one Glaber is for you) Altrough many mods are trying to recreate the past in SRB2,one of the most succesful mods is SRB2 The Past, which will soon get an 2.0 update. The mod features many things from SRB2's past, even including few of SRB2 TGF levels as well as a gallery room.

Fun fact:
Doomship Zone got renamed. Grand Eggship Zone is it's current name.
7 was actually going to be the boss of ACZ before Fang became it's boss.
