An Avenger
That Old school Sonic looks scary. But I do like my Sonic to control like a person. Not like a car, that's my only gripe with SRB2 right now. Anyway as always look awesome.
You've never played adventure?I'm not really most people, but ah well, that's fair
~~I just wanted an excuse to see Golden do more dumb jokes in a video again~~
Lmao why. Also you act like he's complicated to use or something. adventure sonic is just sonic in 3D. and he has the light speed dash I guessNope
Just a weird question, is this an actual mod? Or did you just rename him and changed his face as a joke?
Acting like what,I'm just asking how he plays,I don't think he's gonna be complicated,I'm just curious because again,I have never played the Adventure gamesLmao why. Also you act like he's complicated to use or something. adventure sonic is just sonic in 3D. and he has the light speed dash I guess
They're the most popular and top rated sonic games of all time. Tf you mean aged terribly. Wait did you believe the "Sonic had a rough transition into 3D" Thats like the biggest joke in the sonic fandom. Anyway I highly recommend you check the adventure games if you can. Otherwise Im not sure why you would want this mod anywaysActing like what,I'm just asking how he plays,I don't think he's gonna be complicated,I'm just curious because again,I have never played the Adventure games
No real reason for it,I just haven't
(Don't think I really..want too either, kinda heard they aged terribly)
Not trying to minimod, but you should tone down your aggressiveness. The whole point of this mod is, at its core, to translate the Adventure moveset into SRB2 similar to how Modern Sonic translated the Boost Formula into SRB2. Whether or not the Adventure games are good doesn’t matter here because it’s the new moveset we’re referring to right nowThey're the most popular and top rated sonic games of all time. For SA-Sonic, the jumpball and actual rolling sprites are separate. The jumpball can be re-used(just with red eyes) since it's just...some magical round ball flickering over you. But the rolling sprites are seen too often for that to also work. The classics doing it doesn't mean Adventure has to be held to the same standard. Most characters re-use jumpball sprite(s) for their rolling animations, so maybe you could do that?
Yeah, it's kinda just how Classic Sonic works. Adventure did always strive evolve beyond that, though. That Old school Sonic looks scary. But I do like my Sonic to control like a person. Not like a car, that's my only gripe with SRB2 right now. Anyway as always look awesome.

He has a mobile spindash he can charge anytime. Charging it while moving means you'll gradually slow down to a halt, "spincharge-sliding" if you will. But even not charging gives you a small speed boost. Charge long enough, you'll gain the Lightspeed Attack. Use it to become invincible when you auto-zoom across ring lines, or annihilate enemy clusters with an extra powerful homing-rush.Acting like what,I'm just asking how he plays,I don't think he's gonna be complicated,I'm just curious because again,I have never played the Adventure games

For super sonic imo you can just design the head and replace the head on some on the animations like rolling, walking, etc.For SA-Sonic, the jumpball and actual rolling sprites are separate. In the air he's slowed but easy to control, and has multiple options including the bounce attack and homing thok. On the ground he's superfast, his spindash letting him make incredible leaps, make sharp turns and go super fast. Basically, he's a versatile parkour god, but to truly go fast you need to rely on the spindash and stay grounded. That's SA-Sonic's Risk vs Reward factor, easy to pick up while leaving plenty to master. There's also a few surprises most won't see coming.
As for my opinion, Sonic Adventure DID age. Or rather, it never had the chance to keep evolving.Mainly thanks to '06's reception... But regardless of it's age, you can see the potential, style and ambition it had even today. It mixed exploration and action while rewarding skill with speed and shortcuts that put the classics to shame. It's jank comes from age and decisions to put in unnecessary filler gameplay styles, both easily fixed. Unfortunately jank fuels meme culture, and memes are serious business to SEGA.

Yes he's already said thatFor super sonic imo you can just design the head and replace the head on some on the animations like rolling, walking, etc.
That's SSN Sonic HD, but quickly modified to use SA-Sonic's stats and camera. You can get SSN Sonic HD somewhere in the character releases, I'm sure.Just a weird question, is this an actual mod? Or did you just rename him and changed his face as a joke?
Yeah, he's slightly different and imperfect in each game. Everyone has favorites, and their own ideas to improve on it. Never saw a full-scale Adventure Sonic, though. Just a few references/moves on maybe edited Modern Sonics. SEGA themselves edited the Unleashed model for over 13 years now, so that one's just the most available and updated. Personally felt it was more Pixar than Sonic.Man,he sounds really fun
That's the great thing about Sonic, because he's had so many different changes and or some gimmicks unique to the game in question(Werehog in Unleashed, swinging a sword like an idiot in Black Knight) to how he plays throughout the years, you can have the same blue blur but he plays wild different to be unique
I wonder what the future will hold for future Sonic character mods in SRB2
That's the idea! Hoping Metal allows himself the laziness where he can get it. It's his first project, after all. Never seen anyone aim this high for their first outting. For super sonic imo you can just design the head and replace the head on some on the animations like rolling, walking, etc.
Shine has done everything he can to make him control as well as possible with a controller. Since he is super responsive, having the analog controller gives you much more precision I feel. I personally don't like how SRB2 plays with a controller very much, and I don't have a good keyboard, so this makes the game so much more playable for people like me, so I'm glad I got this thing rolling in the first place. XDHow would you recommend playing adventure sonic? Controller or keyboard?
Oooh, I'd love to see how the roll differs from jumping- speaking of, the jumpball looks really cool! I adore how well it blends into his actual jump animation. The trail on the bounce attack also looks good! For SA-Sonic, the jumpball and actual rolling sprites are separate. Yeah, my own favorite would be SA1 Sonic, one can guess by my comment on the run animation. He had a lot of personality there and his animation in-game was spot on! Can't say the same about the cutscenes, but they have their goofy charm too. This makes me wonder though, how much influence from each Adventure-era game will be in this mod? I see a lot of SA2's influence going by the animations, bounce attack and those speed lines (which are a nice touch!). And lastly...Yeah, he's slightly different and imperfect in each game. Everyone has favorites, and their own ideas to improve on it.
This animation has me in shambles, I adore it! It has a ton of impact with that screen shake, and that little spin makes it look like whatever Sonic ran into really did a number on 'im. It's just so sudden and it took me by surprise!
That's SSN Sonic HD, but quickly modified to use SA-Sonic's stats and camera. You can get SSN Sonic HD somewhere in the character releases, I'm sure.
