I've done this before. my approach was checking if the player is in any state they would be able to spindash from and cancel their ability, otherwise let it run freely.
- Added I/O support! Now all GMS commands will save in your luafiles/client folder, allowing for your GMS settings to persist between sessions!
- Added a bunch of new commands!
gms_help: lists all commands
gms_bounstomp: allows you to toggle beta Ring Crush behavior, making the rebound higher...
He's not supposed to go Super, so it doesn't account for his super color. His set color is just the code for the ability colors not accounting for the super form, you could just do any_color off on the console to get the regular super form colors back working though

I just noticed Sonic's spindash animation breaks when you try to use SMS' emerald. This is kind of ironic because Shine coded both mods, but yeah it happens

I found a slight sound bug. If you get the Super Mario Land flower power-up, then go super and run out of rings, the Super Mario Land music won't start playing again.
