TA Tails Revamped

TA Tails Revamped v2.0.3c

Hi!!! I saw your project and played on the release and yes, the addon is cool, I just love Tails Adventure, but something disappointed me and these are sprites from Sonic CD 2012 PC port and Sonic Mania, so if you don't mind, can I help you with this? how? well, I'll make you tails sprites in the original resolution of Tails Adventure, that is, here are the original assets and based on them I'll make you sprites :3.

If you don't mind helping, then answer.

(The sprites in the picture are made by Sega, so don't take them as if I made them.)

WhisperVII updated TA Tails Revamped with a new update entry:

The long awaited revamp 2.0 update

This update has taken quite some time. I'm not gonna list every change here as I completely remade the main page going over every change made to TA Tails.

TLDR:
Powerup count went from 6 -> 14
New animations and sprites
Shortened cooldowns
Added a pickup animation. This can be toggled off with "tapickup on/off"
Added a new chat emote, which also activates if you idle long enough
I can't remember all the changes but just know a lot of love went into this update!

i got hit twice in succession in a special stage and tails died and it got stuck like this. he faded out after a while but i was still softlocked in the stage unable to do anything.

I stepped on the animal capsule as the robot and it didn't end the level, so much for a revamp I guess

edit: not sure if it's the devmode version, but the robot companion is actually pretty good against bosses
Post automatically merged:

I figured out how the robot not counting as a level complete can softlock the game lol

edit: I forgot that Srb2 has a contingency plan against said "softlock"

I appreciate the bug report, but ending it with "so much for a revamp I guess" is actually incredibly disrespectful to the time and effort I put into this update. Bugs happen, especially when I'm just one person and a beginner still

sorry that I came off, that was not my intention. but what kind of response is this

the robot can't even touch water as it will immediately turn into a submarine and kicks you back to tails. unlike tails proper, the robot moves at a freakishly slow pace with a long cooldown for its attack. and since the robot doesn't finish the level, you can stall out the BCZ3 escape pod indefinitely as long as you stay in the robot form. regardless of if it's accurate or not, I just wanted the robot to not cause the entire level to reset on death. I literally made post here talking about wanting to beat the game with just the robot as a challenge for crying out loud.
"there would be no reason to get other powerups"
ok, lemme just list off every powerup that is better than the robot

bombs have a faster cooldown and more room for error with their small aoe explosion

the napalm is similar to the bombs but instead of spawning a small aoe explosion, it creates a small flame that travels a short distance and can't attack enemies that are airborne (the flames don't turn into a submarine when wet)

big bomb takes a while to explode, but deals double damage and goes through bosses faster than just using the robot

sonic's spindash gives tails the op ability of flight extent, it's not as op like how it is on tails and knuckles

night vison goggles do as like other full bright fof thingies do, but I like seeing them because there's only three (with TATails), so it counts imo
...
I just realized that by doing this I nullified my own opinion.
eh, I'd change the review, but you replied to it so it's out of my hands now (I'm not joking reviews can't be deleted when it gets replied)

I know the perfect solution for this. Just give me a bit to make an update

WhisperVII updated TA Tails Revamped with a new update entry:

Another bugfix + a small change

  • Fixed an issue where if the robot completed a boss stage, the player would get softlocked.
  • Removed the robot's complete invincibility during boss stages and now has a health count.
    • If the robot loses all HP during the fight (or by a death pit or being crushed) the robot will have to repair itself and can't be used during this state.
  • A new command has been added "tarobothardmode" (default is off)
    • With hardmode turned off, the robot is unable to...

Suggestion: I noticed that the side sprite for Tails' max speed sorta looks out of place compared to the rest of the sprites, because the side sprite has Tails' tails visible while the other sprites have it in a blur, but Sonic 2 has sprites that looks pretty similar. Maybe it's a nitpick but idk :/
