Adventure Sonic (v1.8b)

Adventure Sonic (v1.8b) v1.8b

Don't know if it's a problem with the addon or something but i was trying out the new rush mode, the game crashed on me in GFZ act 2, and now almost all of my progress is just gone. Emblems, unlockable characters, etc. save files with the standard characters are still there and in tact but I'm still confused and kinda mad. (Sorry for the bad english btw)
No addon can delete your saves. Something more serious happened if that's the case.

whats a dinkleberg and why do people keep calling me that???
Don't worry, you're not a Milne!

dinkleberg comes from the last name of the character Sheldon Dinkleberg from the fairy odd parents and is the neighbor to Mr. Turner. Turner believes they are in a rivalry where's Dinkleberg thinks of them as friends. like, he pretended to be a super villian because he knew it would make him happy
(on a side note, Mr. Turner has no name as far I could find)

Bro stay on-topic.

(I figure the update has been out long enough that I can ask this now, seeing that nobody else has)

In the main changelog, it says that on top of being a main ability in "Rush Mode", & seen when bouncing off of springs & bumpers, etc., there "might" be a way to perform the Humming Top whenever you want (& I'm guessing this is outside of rush mode), how do you achieve this?

It involves your bounce attack!

By the way! Our test server has been cleared out and v1.8b should be ready right as Metalwario64 finishes an effect he wanted to see in. Expect to see the update coming very soon!

I manifest to ask this: is there any way to reduce/disable those screen-edge effects that appear while travelling at high speeds? They can be a bit distracting.

I thought lava could never touch me but I guess I was wrong:blink:

While technically a vanilla glitch, I'm happy you've played SA-Sonic so much you've only encountered it with him before.

I'll show another vanilla glitch that's been reported alot for SA-Sonic while I'm at it.

Or the "getting stuck on sloped walls when going really fast" glitch...don't have a GIF for it on hand, but it's merely easier to recreate on fast characters rather than an SA-Sonic specific issue.

I have fixed vanilla glitches for SA-Sonic before, countless ones involving the homing attack, but I try not to touch ones like these since they involve very aggressive wrestling with SRB2's collision systems, causing performance strain and likely creating more glitches. I can't simply replace the collision, I'd have to fight the hardcode the entire way.

There is! Turning flash effects off will do that.

v1.8b is releasing later today, btw! Apologies for the tension!

Not sure if it's the exact same glitch, but I think I have a gif that's pretty much similar at the very least!

I got it by busting open the Speed Shoes towards the end of Arid Canyon Act 1, then making my way to the very sloped path/road after busting open the last barricade. He ran so fast, he just got stuck in the floor naturally and I knew I had to show this to my friends lmao.

He ran down something to gain speed on, and got Eggman'd, lol.

Not to be a stick in the mud, But will the bug for the Emerald Hill Zone hangout map involving it's Master Emerald object no longer granting hyper be fixed?

Metalwario64 updated Adventure Sonic (v1.8) with a new update entry:

v1.8b: The Super Stability Patch!

Sorry to keep you waiting! We ended up handing over a hundred tester roles. Much obliged to everyone who participated in testing!

Adventure Sonic's v1.8b release features a bunch of bugfixes, QoL updates, and an always-welcome performance boost. One of our test games held about 24 people at one point without framedrops or other issues, so here's hoping this SA-Sonic version can last us a long time...
