Adventure Sonic (v1.8b)

Adventure Sonic (v1.8b) v1.8b

Bro had to do 7 patches to fix Milne, actually, if we count the updates before v1.8. Somehow that dance has caused issues 7 seperate times. Me and Milne Mod support are not in the stars, apparently.

At the risk of missing a joke, it's in the SAmenu. The console command is simply SAmenu. Or...you just hold pause and jump.

And it's the FINAL time! For real! For sure. Definitely, without a doubt.

Not Metalwario's fault, I'm the one that posts all the updates. Metalwario's role is making Sonic's sprites.

I will. This is TOTALLY the last one!
it milne fault!

it milne fault!
Dinklebeeeerg.... I'm just hopelessly incompetent when it comes to working with other people's code, tbh. Not having had beta testers this time around also made multiplayer issues near-impossible to pin down.

Might i ask, What is the City map that is showcased in the update? It looks like fun.
I think you mean either Chao City by me or Q6 by Ordomandalore. Both are WIP levels.

They update and we play HARD

Thank you wario for your wonderful creativity this is PEAK!!

Damn y'all are going all out with all of this
Oh man, playing SRB2 with a touchscreen sounds like a personal hell to me. But I see less people with a PC everyday. How's it play? Do you phone peeps feel like SA-Sonic controls well on a touchscreen compared to usual SRB2 controls?

Howdy! a while back a server im part asked for perms to edit for the Fix to Milne and were allowed. the fix is just deleting the FKIK sprite, no edits to the code. when 1.7 came out it was the same fix. he could even interact with the icon missing. figured this might be something to know. i cant confirm the same fix for 1.8
'tis fixed now!

i did it for a year, and how well you play pretty much comes down to how fast you can react.

Rush mode is kinda bizarre to me considering Rush was the first boost game lol. I guess Adventure Sonic is also Modern Sonic now.

I pretty much get used to it :worry:

I accidentally ended up combining the previous version of sa sonic and the newer version and this happened

Yeah this is exaclty what i was thinking, this has nothing to do with Advenutre Sonic, even if it's cool, i guess they are gonna implement every game mechanic where Super Sonic has adventure quills lol.

The fact is, Adventure Sonic- despite the name- was never restricted to just using stuff from the Adventure games. The far thok, being based directly on the airdash in the Advance games, was there from the start, not to mention the whole Advance game flair a few versions later. And here's some fun facts for ya- Sonic Rush released in late 2005, believe it or not, a full year before Sonic 06, 3 years before Unleashed, and a year and a half after Sonic Advance 3. It's closer to what people consider Adventure era games in both temporal directions than it is to the first console boost game.
But, honestly, that's all semantics if you ask me. Probable fact is, MetalWario and Golden Shine thought Rush Mode would be cool and fun, so they did the work and added it. Enough said. It really doesn't matter whether Rush is an "adventure era game" or a "boost game" in the face of that. On top of that, internally, Adventure Sonic is considered to be "Yuji Uekawa Sonic", inspired by the man's art foremost- and wouldn't you know it, that man's art is one of the common denominators linking Adventure, Advance, and Rush.
Really though, I think all anyone should be concerned about is "Oh wow, MetalWario and Golden Shine gave Adventure Sonic a whole new play style! That's so cool! That rules! I'm gonna have so much fun with it!", not all this semantic nonsense. Just play with the dang thing.

Was moreso just giving my first impression, didn't mean to start an argument. I'm just looking at it from a gameplay perspective, though It being an entirely separate mode tells me that Golden's already aware it's a divergence from the expected experience. I don't have a real problem with it besides that it maybe overlaps a bit with the Modern Sonic mod.

Hit the nail on the head. Plus, Rush originally had Advance sprites and Drummond's Advance 3 voice clips in development. That and Uekawa's art still being the big look for the series and him still being the main character designer gives it traces of that same vibe and aesthetic. It was also the last game with the GUN robots that wasn't the throwback in Generations.

Oh so now what, it's not Adventure Sonic but... Uekawa Sonic?

Bro when I saw this update I said "Oh WOW." Like 10 times. I've always considered Sa-Sonic "Yuji Uekawa Sonic" which is great for me cuz that man's art is my fav Sonic Design seeing MetalWario and Golden hit all those notes...is freaking godly.

I mean RedLily said all that needed to be said. Modern Sonic doesn't really start in the fans eyes until '06, which means anything in between Sonic Adventure and Rush Adventure are fair game. Heck even Sega themselves refer to this as the adventure era. Also who cares if it's freaking fun.

OK but my existence proves this wrong. None of this is set in stone and this specific line doesn't make a lot of sense. 06 is blatantly trying to be an Adventure game, Rush blatantly inspired Unleashed. Perfectly valid to think Modern Sonic started there instead. Rush Adventure would contradict this anyway.

True, but in all honesty Rush is where the line between Adventure and Modern Sonic starts. I do think that '06 should be considered an Adventure game (Cuz P-06 is perfect), but most fan will disagree. I really don't like this whole Adventure, Classic, and Modern Sonic era thing. Why can't it just be "Sonic", the existence of Classic Sonic is to scratch an itch for those who need it, but Sonic works in both 2D and 3D. At the end of the day Sa-Sonic is MetelWario & Golden's creation which they can do whatever they want with it. Sa-Sonic was made by Fans for the Fans.

Exactly, so let's not keep talking about this. It's just gonna fill up the thread.

Btw, nice update :)
