=CLOSED= [GS] Grind Rails - Public pre-release bugtest & feedback server

Are there physics differences between the rail types or is it just the texture/sound that's different? It's hard to tell from the videos. Also will there be 'Unleashed-style' rails without physics and/or a similar type that locks controls? Would be useful for mini-cutscenes etc. It all looks fantastic either way and I can't wait to experiment with this.

EDIT: Just answered my latter question by RTFM. My god you really thought of everything.

Also how would you delineate one set of rail segments from another? Just with thing tags? The documentation doesn't seem to specify.

Alsoalso would there be a way to make rails intangible? So you could use them for decorative purposes like banners etc.

Due to reasons outside of the mod development itself, I'm taking waaaay longer on getting the GS Grind Rails release out there than intended. I believe the auto-override system on SAT2036 is PROBABLY going to be compatible enough with the official rail release, so for mappers frustrated waiting on me, feel free to release your map so long as the rail version is updated to SAT2036:

Grind Rails (SAT2036, pre-final build)
Grind Rail Test stages (SAT2035 - The official release will have 1 more at least.)

If you're instead a mapper waiting on a tutorial beyond the (slightly outdated) GS Grindrails Google Docs documentations before attempting to dabble with the rails yourself, then I suggest you continue waiting on the final release! I'll be posting a large feature showcase video with every single feature explained and shown in action. That said, I think experienced mappers could figure it all out easily with just the tooltips in Ultimate Zone Builder!

Oh cool

Damn, I don't wanna ask for a release date just for this. Worth waiting.
Had you asked me last year, I would've said the official release be out before 2025...

You said it yourself, it's not finished, but I'll say in 2 to 3 weeks I'll release the mod.

its a map pack

Ok also is the kingdom valley the only one that isn't complete or are there any other maps.
I'm not the one who made Kingdom Valley, I just used the "Kingdom Valley Windrails" rail type.
If you want to see the other maps, go to the srb2 discord and search for project junio.

Ok I just want to make sure I'm not saying to rush it you can take as much time as you want so it can be as good as it can be also does project junio have grind rails? And by that I mean all the levels.
And btw when you said the wind rails cause lag I thought you had the kingdom valley map but you don't.

The rails are the main gimmick of the last level, the others have them but very little. I had not made them with the rails in mind

Don't worry, it's not rushed and I've already tried to submit it twice but I couldn't because of copyright issues.
