So i was at my friends house, and then he wants to watch a movie. it’s not on any of the streaming services they have, but they have a CD of it. When he’s flicking through, a CD case falls out. AN SRB2 XMAS 0.96 CD. he has no idea what it is and why it’s probably really rare.

The main thing is that this beautiful story does not end like another story.
Like someone found disk with a canceled sega mega cd game, or prototype of sonic xtreme.
And then it turned out that it was broken

I thought that very few in the world (or nobody) would have the xmas 0.96 cd... who knows... for sure in a cd abandoned in the trash will be the srb2 xmas 0.90, who knows

RIP EVERYTHING FROM THAT CD AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!!!!!! (And upload it to archive.org pls :p)
Also, could you possibly take pictures of the inside and outside of the CD and case? It's for a project...

there's already a web page containing every xmas release (except 0.90 because it's lost) and i think there are pictures on google with the inside and outside. Ever since i told my friend about what it is, he's been treating it like royalty.

Actually, there is some special content on that CD, including an installer.
 
I don't know people from here who have the srb2 xmas 0.96 cd... (speaking that the cd is in good condition)

where did that person get the cd of srb2 xmas 0.96?

This is really hard to believe. But it's an insane find nonetheless. I would like to see a picture of it, though.
 
^ I agree, a picture of that CD would be interesting (even more if it comes on a case, i would like to see screenshots from the front and back sides)

And yeah, you should make a copy of everything that's on the CD because, who knows, even if it's archived already it still has a chance of having something interesting on it
 
Well else we can try find else one friend with dvd disks.
Maybe we find else one disk and friend won't be greedy

alright time to say something over a year late

so this obviously was NOT a legitimate copy from ssntails (how would some random ahh teenager get it 💀)

it was 0.96.
