If leaving a platform while rolling, press spin while airborne to execute the "trick".
Its great for redirecting or keeping up your momentum while mid air

The surfboard is just..invincible to lava somehow lol

! Another Visual Oddity Of Note !
The Light Speed Attack trail (/trail of the initial Dash) is also having some angle-related problems, it seems- although in this case it's being pretty not-angular.

I did look up footage of an older version first to make sure I'm not just seeing things, and the trail definitely looked a lot more angle-y than it does now.
Here's one of said vids, of an older version LSA on Egg Castle Act 3-
And a GIF I just took, for closer comparison.

It doesn't seem to break nearly as much post-badnik bop, but it breaks a lot more when snapping way up or down, and in general it just looks pretty weird and unnatural.

Either way, kick those bugs' butts, GoldenShine !!
 
something I found is that the new update is less laggy in all cases, like in 1.5, the invincibility seemed to half my framerate... while now in 1.6, it doesn't seem to affect the framerate at all!
On top of that, strangely, one of the MRCE levels which was unplayably laggy was suddenly playable when playing with, which is a mysterious yet positive change.
I'm very glad the new invincibility is a boost in performance. It looks nicer as well, and that's because I took the SA2 textures and basically recreated the effects SA1 and SA2 used for the invincibility so it's like a normal shield now instead of a ton of particles, and it's got COLORS and RAINBOWS and is pretty. :P Before Shine did the best with what he had to work with, and it looked good but looks like the performance hit was there for some players, so it's good we got that worked out, and it was Shine's idea to begin with, so I'm thankful for that suggestion because it wasn't on my mind.

In v1.6, the Advance-style spindash dust appears incorrectly. The papersprite on the left should be mirrored.
Also, I liked the old 3D invincibility particle effect. It would be nice to have an option to use it instead of the sprite version.

Is it intentional that Adventure Sonic's air speed is REDUCED when he gets the Speed Sneakers?
Well, I'll double check it over since I'm doing a hotfix later this week anyway!

some particle effects don't display correctly. It happens with the invincibility and some of Hyper Sonic's particle effects when he transforms and when he enters Flight mode as well
type "sanoquakes surfboarder" in console while in single player with rushchars loaded
Did you ever get these issues on things like the regular Super Sonic aura or the spintrails? And by any chance, nerd123, are you running on MacOS too?

For the record, I have no issues with you running an edited version on the Master Server merely to fix a bug. Just don't give it an official sounding name like v1.6 or v1.6b. CL_AdventureSonic-v1.6-NexHotFix.pk3 or something would do fine.

While you're in your spinning state in midair, uncurl. This'll give you a small air-drag ignoring boost, signified by shiny blue afterimages. Now if you do this while Sonic is rapidly rising (such as when you spin off a steep ramp), then Sonic's stylin'

Visually, it's a cheeky reference to Sonic Advance 2's boost mode.

Gameplay-wise I just felt it would play better than stopping dead in midair/suddenly bouncing. (The original behaviour) SRB2 has a lot of blocky terrain, so players might suddenly lose all momentum when spamdashing because they happened to be over a 5 inch drop, which just feels janky. If something from Adventure doesn't translate well to SRB2 and serves no purpose, I change it.

I imagine a potential SA-Shadow would focus more on Sonic Adventure 2. But Sonic might still get Soap Shoes in the far future!

Even if I did, unfortunately anyone using the old sparkles might create lag for others, that's why we wanted a new effect in the first place. It IS a shame the old effort was basically replaced, though. I certainly didn't replace it because it looked bad. At the very least, consider the pre-v1.6 invincibility sparkles reusable at this point.

It's a jetski quirk, probably to make it more useful? The surfboard is just a reanimated jetski, there's no custom behavior code. It's not immune to death pits though, and there's a death pit conveniently below the lava, so don't sink too far!
