but how they do that is their way to still play the 2.1 master servers if you use a ip or something eles becuase a youtuber named DanielDapple made a gameplay video of srb2 2.1 sugoi that video was made in Apr 28, 2020 idk how did that youtuber got to play 2.1 master servers i think he got a IP adress from that server with his friends

make sure you hit on youtube to see the date when this video was made

you can still play the old versions online without the master server because connecting by ip is a peer to peer type connection.

The why is simple:
The same machines are used for hosting the 2.2 Master Server, and, as of recent, the Master Server changed in how it worked internally, and, as a result, 2.1 can no longer work with the new Master Server format.
 
OH, that is easy, we lost a working copy of source code for SRB2MS binary; so keep this old 32-bit program from server to server; until it could not ran anymore (it could not load the 32-but MySQL libraries anymore)
That why a replacement Masterserver based on HTTP was made.

You don't need to bump threads for no reason.

You asked why were 2.1 servers removed, and you were given a couple answers regarding that.
It is common forum etiquette to mantain and only discuss the original topic within instead of derailing it with a different topic.
This is basically why your thread is no longer active: the main discussion topic is complete.

If you have more questions regarding the current master server and 2.1, feel free to continue using this thread - but don't just say "dead thread" nor bump it with useless posts.
If you have any questions that regard a different topic, create a new thread.
