The "Ring Racers edition" of my previously released SRB2Kart pack.
Pichu and Emolga were originally released individually in KKD Discord server. The ones I released here have minor sprite fixes (Pichu's sideways mouth was corrected and Emolga's sideways spin out sprites were fixed), and are now released in a single .pk3 file (separate .wad files are still available).
The download itself contains both the combined .pk3 file and individual character files in "individual" folder, just in case if you're running low on character slots for example.
THE RACERS
The Tiny Mouse Pokemon. Like the last time, despite his youth, he is still able to race with his decent acceleration and very cute cornering skills at the cost of his weight.
Origin: Pokemon Gold and Silver (1999)
Stats: SPD 3 | WT 1
Preferred Color: Yellow
Rivals: ChuChu (both ChuChu and Pichu are mice), Pulseman (both his titular game and Pokemon were developed by Game Freak), Tails
Voice line sources: Super Smash Bros Ultimate
Changes from SRB2Kart version: Pichu's sprites were completely redrawn from scratch (except for XTRA sprites (portraits and minimap marker), which are instead reused from SRB2Kart version with minor changes)
(This is my first character I've ever made for Ring Racers)
The Sky Squirrel Pokemon, and also Unova's Pikaclone. Her speed stat is now balanced, while her low weight that allows her to do great job at cornering remains the same.
Origin: Pokemon Black and White (2010)
Stats: SPD 5 | WT 2 (shared with Amy)
Preferred Color: Yellow
Rivals: Pulseman (same reason as Pichu), Ray (both Ray and Emolga are flying squirrels), Cream
Voice line sources: PokePark 2 Wonders Beyond
Changes from SRB2Kart version: not counting kart change and new required sprites added, Emolga's sprites were ported with few minor changes. I also lowered her speed stat from 6 to 5.
The Sea Otter Pokemon, and also Unova's Water Type starter. He still prefers acceleration over top speed, and remains being lightweight as well.
Origin: Pokemon Black and White (2010)
Stats: SPD 4 | WT 2 (shared with Ray)
Preferred Color: Navy
Rivals: Emolga (his crush in Anime), Samurott (his fully evolved form), Chaos Zero (if Chaos was in Pokemon, he would be definitely Water Type Pokemon)
Voice line sources: PokePark 2 Wonders Beyond
Changes from SRB2Kart version: not counting kart change and new required sprites added, Oshawott's sprites were ported with few minor changes.
The Penguin Pokemon, and also Sinnoh's Water Type starter. Everyone's favorite Water Type bird's stats are a mix of Pichu's acceleration and Emolga/Oshawott's handling, which means that he does pretty good job at cornering, with his top speed being his weakness.
Origin: Pokemon Diamond and Pearl (2006)
Stats: SPD 3 | WT 2 (shared with Headdy)
Preferred Color: Navy
Rivals: Flicky, Bean, Jet (all of them, including Piplup himself, are different types of birds)
Voice line sources: PokePark Wii and PokePark 2 Wonders Beyond
(My first character who does not originate from my SRB2Kart mod)
The Mouse Pokemon, and the legendary Pokemon mascot himself. He's heavier than Emolga, but nonetheless, he still knows how to drive these go-karts with his balanced speed.
Origin: Pokemon Red and Green (1996)
Stats: SPD 5 | WT 3
Preferred Color: Banana
Rivals: Eevee (take a wild guess), Pichu (his baby form), Pulseman (do I have to say that again?)
Voice line sources: Super Smash Bros Melee, Super Smash Bros for Wii U and PokePark 2 Wonders Beyond
The Balloon Pokemon, and also the one recurring unlockable Pokemon from Super Smash Bros. games. Heavier than Pichu, much slower than the rest, but she is still very dangerous (in Time Attack mode at least).
A (bit late(?), at the time of making her) tribute to Jigglypuff's English language voice actress Rachael Lillis (1978-2024).
Origin: Pokemon Red and Green (1996)
Stats: SPD 1 | WT 2 (shared with Silver)
Preferred Color: Taffy
Rivals: Pikachu (fellow Smash 64 Pokemon), Azusa Miura, Honey
Voice line sources: Super Smash Bros Melee and Super Smash Bros Ultimate
