Hello!
I realized during the making of my last mod (Stealing with Sonia) that you can build a lot of momentum from slopes. So I thought I'd make a proof of concept map pack about just that.
Every stage consists of about 6 jumps you have to absolutely nail to win. I kept the spindash in the game for experimenting, but it's not needed and you can cheese stages with it.
There's also a secret area, thanks to carabarabonanza and Zeonis for a Sonia fanart each. Nice of them to help me out like that.
I plan to add more longer and harder stages to this as I go, but testing and building them is legitimately hard. If I follow up on this "promise", a silver and a gold cup will be added eventually. If someone else loves the concept and wants to design a map for it, feel free to reach out :)
I put a .gif of a successful clear of the tutorial stage below so you can look at the held angles and stuff. Should help figuring out the surf mechanics :)
Also the whole game works on the software renderer, but Map05 looks a bit glitchy. I tried to make it as good as possible, but the OpenGL renderer is the superior choice.
Goodbye and have a fun time listening to some trance while you throw yourself at the same simple obstacle course again and again!
