Finally, my substantial update for my SatAM Robotnik has been fully realized, thanks to dotkwa for his generosity in taking on my request to create a LUA for additional voice clips (something I've always wanted for custom DRRR racers). Included thus far IRT additional voice clips are:
  • Rank-specific voice clips (ala Sonic Adventure 2, Heroes, 06, etc.) – including for S Ranks(!),
  • Character/racer-specific reactions for when you're damaging, or damaged by, other racers (including both vanilla and quite a few addon racers!)
Alongside the new additional voice clips, I took the liberty of fixing up the pre-existing sprites, mostly to more closely match SatAM Robotnik's actual design in the show; alongside minor fixes such as changing the position of his head for the lookback sprites.

Of course, a non-LUA version is available as per usual.

Thanks once again to dotkwa. This update wouldn't have been possible without him. (Look out for his LUA script whenever he uploads it onto the forums!)
Small update; nothing substantial, but should make things a bit better.

  • The issue of the death voice clips using the full LUA version of the character has been resolved thanks to FrivolousAqua figuring out the issue with both her original and my edited script. For some reason, in certain situations, DRRR's death state will tick up far too early than it should, thereby resulting in the voice clips sometimes not playing at all in the LUA script. Aqua fixed this by setting the proper "tick" to play these clips as 2 instead of 1, thereby bypassing this strange DRRR bug.
  • Added a missing ear nub to one of SatAM!Robotnik's sprites that I accidentally missed doing the final coloring and shading.
  • The death sprite animation has been slightly made faster, via removing some frames. Not sure if the animation really comes across much regardless.
I want to do something a bit more substantial for my next update to SatAM!Robotnik (albeit nothing crazy like new gameplay mechanics or whatever), but that depends on whether or not it's actually possible as-is with the current DRRR version. We'll just have to see. Either way, you can consider this the "final" version of SatAM!Robotnik... at least if my substantial update plans don't come to fruition.
  • Cool!
