The diabolical tyrant scientist makes his grand entrance...
SatAM!Robotnik, from DIC's cult classic 1993 animated adaptation of Sonic the Hedgehog (refered to as as "SatAM" by fans), finally joins the Ring Races!
Class: G (Weight 8 and Speed 2) [same stats as vanilla!Eggman]
Vanilla Rivals: Sonic, Blaze, Eggman
Addon Rivals: (Vanilla!)Sonic, Sally Acorn [by breadbuggenius], (Archie!)Snively [by JakeSilent]
Available both with and without the LUA script for some additional voice clips for the "death" state. Also comes with an additional "patch" to have the listed addon racers as SatAM!Robotnik's rivals; compatible with both versions.
All racer sprites (plus the illustration for the banner), minus the kart itself, by me, MaximumVelocity, with some assistance from Tangerine Dreams (90% of the spriting work for the back sprite cape, and the minimap marker icon); created using the "Egg" Kart base that was created by SinCarma for his Extra DRRR Kart Templates. Exported via Kartmaker, then manually edited further with SLADE.
Voice clips taken, edited and spliced/"sentence mixed" from SatAM Sonic proper (mostly Season 2), with an additional laugh taken from Shocker from Spider-Man: The Animated Series (1994) – since it's the same VA and all. Background music and (most) sound effects were removed using Ultimate Vocal Remover. Edited and spliced/"sentence mixed" using Audacity and Sony Vegas.
Banner illustration and signpost pose taken from the Archie Sonic comics, specifically Issue 25.
LUA script for additional voice clips for the explosion/"death" state created and edited, with full permission, by FrivolousAqua.
Special thanks to:
- Tangerine Dreams for their input and feedback, helping me to follow the Ring Racers style, as well as a few revisions and additions they did during both the drafting and finalized stages.
- Jacob "Good Ol' Groovy Jake" Berkley (author of the forthcoming "The Complete History of Sonic SatAM" book), as well as the members of the Fans United for SatAM / Team Sea3on Discord server, for their additional input and suggestions for my SatAM!Robotnik.
