POST-SCRIPT/WALL OF NONSENSE BABBLE TEXT:
Probably most ambitious Ring Racers project I've taken on... 3/5ths of the characters added this update have a unique aspect to them! Out of everyone I'd only say Taizo is a throwaway since I just made him for total funsies one night. Homer is not complicated but considering I'm not really a Simpsons fan I think I did him justice and SuperSani24 picked amazing sounds for him. Raku is the simpler one out of the ambitious characters; just being a higher resolution character, but the funny thing is I had to make all of the dithering effects Kartmaker does automatically by hand! I wasn't satisfied with how it was outputting so I did it myself. It wasn't a very complicated (mostly boring) process but it's an effort that vastly improved the final product. Crazy Otto is another character I had to make entirely manually but even moreso this time. Surprisingly it didn't take me long to make him but it was fun and running around as some creature is so silly. Haruko has been a long time coming, she was one of the first characters I considered making for the pack or game in general! She clocks in as being the longest a character's taken me to make, a whole month. A lot of it was just due to needing to make an entire vehicle and character from scratch which was something I wasn't always motivated to do, not even mentioning unique drift sprites... But ultimately I'm very proud with how she turned out. I'm really happy with how all of the characters in this update are and I hope you enjoy them as much as I do! The promotional artwork is certainly a step-up from the first...
