After trying bcz2, it's hard because in order for Dino to hit metal, he has both be above him and be moving downward. This is fine enough for most normal enemies, but metal sonic is constantly being pushed away from you, and a lack of air movement options means you need to already be moving toward him somehow and preemptively jump. This can only really be done at the start since he's also really quick at getting too close to do this. The most consistent way to hit him is to back him into a corner, tank his attack, and then jump on him there so he can't move out of the way. This isn't possible in ultimate though.

Dino has an absolutely absurd jump height. Using the whirlwind shield, Dino almost goes as high as a yellow spring. On command. It's incredibly good at platforming, but less so on attacking enemies and bosses. Metal Sonic demands a lot out of being able to attack enemies easily, but Dino has much more trouble than just that. It's also rather minor, but it has an acceleration buff too, which... I guess is nice? Hard to feel.

Honestly the main thing that Dino is in need of is the stomping behaviors. Maybe give him full jump damage after he starts going down. The cactus image is also really cute.

Tried it and loved it. It's just too peak to pass up. A hidden gem, which all should try, at one point!
