You made your own Sonic Game!

Aw yeah! This is Happening!
Let's say, theoretically, you made your own sonic game, and it's going to be released for all current gen consoles. What's the title of the game, and what are your main mechanics, and your story?

I'll start: I'd make another Modern 3D Sonic game, called Sonic Island Tour. It would be a Single Player or Multiplayer Game with up to 4 players where you can pick a character to play as from Sonic, Tails, Amy, & Knuckles and up to 4 players can play at the same time, similar to Kirby Star Allies or Sonic Superstars where there's one main player and the others have to keep up with the main player, but you can mess around and take the spotlight by jumping on the main player's head.

Each character would have their own special abilities, in air and on land, activated by pressing an ability button
A is the Jump button, meaning you have to press it twice to activate it midair
B is the ability button, so you can press it once to activate it, and they can be used midair or can become a different ability if jumping
Sonic:
(A) Air Dash
(B) Spindash (Drop Dash if Sonic is midair)
Tails:
(A) Fly (can be canceled by using a Dashing Tail Attack)
(B) Tail Swipe (Dashing Tail Attack if used in midair)
Knuckles:
(A) Glide + Climb
(B) Punch Combat (Uppercut if Knux is midair, and Ground Pound if used after Uppercutting)
Amy:
(A) Hammer Bounce
(B) Piko Hammer (Piko Spin if used in midair)

The story would be where Sonic and Co. are exploring a new set of 5 islands, (one being a huge island in the middle) after discovering the chaos emeralds lay about there after their last battle (like frontiers or superstars), but Eggman's already there and taken 3! Sonic breaks into Eggman's base and foils his plans, and those 3 emeralds scatter across the islands. Sonic and his friends set off across the islands to find the emeralds, while they rush to Eggman's base at the peak of the main island's mountain to stop his plans of world domination!

They'll explore 2 worlds on each island (for example a beach theme and a water theme on one and) each will have 3 acts, meaning there would be around 30-40 levels, and 2 Special Stages can be found throughout each act (but they'll be more hidden the more you progress)

Now, let's see what YOU can come up with, and you want can rate others' 1-5 stars!

Ok, me now.
Sonic A-X is a 2D fangame of playable characters and unlockable characters, that costs rings in a shop, so you just lose just 15 rings in hit. If you die, you lose 30 rings.
Sonic, Tails, Knuckles and Amy are already here to you select one and play. You can change the playable character in a save file.

Sonic and Amy have the same abilities of Superstars. But Sonic have Insta shiled and SuperPeelout all together.

Unlockable characters:
Trip- Just beat the game. Same abilities of Superstars.

MetalSonic- Beat the game with all emeralds. Spindash: Look down, press jump and he will do the classic Speedburst attack! He can fly like Tails, but he dont get tired. And he "Drowns" faster on water.

Mighty, Ray and Honey- On shop (M: 1000 rings. R: 1305 rings. H: 2000 rings. M&R have the same abilities of Sonic Mania and Knux Chaotix.

Honey can look up and press jump buttom to do a big jump kick that makes she go back a bit. She doesn't spindash, punch? Of course. And she propels herself a bit with her wings, doing a spinning kick when doing that big jump kick on air!

Ashura: Maybe you just need to wet yourself..?

Levels!!!
Violet Garden: -Green- Violet Hill!

Styled Streets: Very cool tunnels (of Metropolis Zone of S2) mechanic.

Murky Mine: Abandoned mine and water level.

Iron Sun: Why they need to much lava?

Orchid Florast: Why all the trees here are giant orchids?

Power Napalm: An abandoned weapon base, Eggman look to have an interest on here...

Sinthwave Park: Retro music land! Feel free to burst your moves here!

Prism Vulcan: A volcano with way much minerals, principally prisms.

Mesa Hill: You reached a meseta/plateau biome... From distance, you can see a rocket...

Galaxy Highway: Feel free to feel the speed of sound! Just these outposts that shrunk you and badniks that make rain stars (?)

Robotnik Empire: You reached that Eggheaded robot enthusiast base! Just try not to fall and be stuck in space.

Theres 4 badniks to each level, Unlockable levels, new monitors/shields and a new transformation! If i put all these here, it would be so awesome... it would be so cool...

Okay, okay, i will say one more extra thing of my fangame...

An unlockable level is called ROBOTNIK EMPIRE S, that unite the 3 acts of Eggman Empire in one level, with new checkpoints locateds on the start of the acts. But youre forced to play as... Silver the Hedgehog! (S stands for Silver)
He have the same controls of Sonic 06. But if it was 2D, but he dont have that bar limit of his psych abilities. He have the Modern era visual.
If you beat the level, you be able to use the code REZS to play as Silver whenever you want!

i rate it 4.5 sonic (super)stars out of 5
only criticism is the ring system and maybe the rings you earn from a stage should instead be brung into the shop, so once you complete a stage all of the ring's you've earned will go into your ring bank (and you can get stage bonuses like the time or score to get more added)
other than that it's perfectaliscious :threat:

I like it pretty much.
5 stars, spelling about it sounds like a fangame in collaboration of Lakephepard
(Sonic After/Before the Sequel & Chrono Adventure)
Very basic, but warming with nostalgia!
 
For me it's more of a pitch for a new gameplay style for Sonic than a whole new game. My new gameplay style would be a in-between of adventure and boost formulas play style. It's main mechanic would be Sonic's slow deceleration, and trying to keep your max speed throughout what I call "the speed window" The thing to keep in mind is that I made this up while day dreaming to Sonic music while on a car ride. So I could forgor some stuff and detail that I made up while originally thinking about this.

So first of all Sonic's movement would be a merge between the best parts of adventure and frontiers movement flow.
Movement related things.
-Sonic's steering is straight from SA1 and you won't lose speed by running in small circles.
-Sonic now can freely run on walls with the precision of these special glowing walls from frontiers.
-Sonic's homing attack has the speed of SA2's H.A and the precision and range of Frontiers H.A. (No hit-stun and you won't miss a target because you were a bit below of the target)
-Sonic's jogging speed is from SA2.
-Sonic's jump physics is from frontiers but the turning is closer to the adventure games.
Moveset related things.
-Sonic has a thok from SA2. (Press jump button mid-air. [A])
-And a homing attack. (Press attack button mid-air. [X])
-Plus a light speed dash. (Press special button next to trial of rings or any ring. [Y])
-Both the thok and homing attack can be used back 2 back. For example you can thok to a far away target and homing attack it. Or regain speed that was lost from the H.A's rebound launch.
-This may be controversial but... Sonic has no boost, no spindash only thok for a quick burst of speed. (This will be important later.)
-Sonic has a roll ability that doubles the amount of speed you gain/lose from downward/upward slopes. It also damages anything on impact. (Press attack button while moving [X])
-Sonic's has a passive ability named "the speed window". (Check the physics tab for more info.)
Physics related things.
-[THE SPEED WINDOW] Every time Sonic moves above his jogging speed, he has 3 or 5 seconds of speed window in which he won't lose speed by running up a slope, and will keep his speed until the times runs out, then Sonic will slowly decelerate to his jogging speed. (Idk if 5 sec. is too busted, also the slope resistance doesn't work while rolling.)
-Sonic can gain or lose speed depending if the slope goes up or down, if you want double the speed you can roll down it. But you will lose double the speed while rolling up a slope.
-The S.W works in every state, here's most of them: Running, flying through air, grinding on rails, riding on a zip line... (I can't think of other speed dependent states. :<)
Gameplay related things.
-The level design will be a clash between SA2's and boost games. There will be slopey terrain, but it won't be very open, it's going to be more
centered like city escape for example. Or just a cyberspace type level design but much better.
-Sonic regains the ability to homing attack starts of the rails to safely land on them, and it also gives you a medium speed boost.
-Unlike in most of Sonic games, when Sonic uses light speed dash on grounded rings instead of him entering falling state and losing the speed from L.S.D (great acronym btw :worry:) he instead will continue running with a huge speed boost. Also making rings extremely important to the gameplay again.
Ways to gain speed.
-The easiest way to gain speed is using slopes, or interacting with the stage's objects, like boosters or dash rings.
-Using homing attack on the start of the rails.
-Light speed dashing along trails of rings. (Also works while on rails!!!)

My inspiration for this new gameplay style was born from the wacky physics in S.Frontiers cyberspace and by megabeam981's series of cyberspace speedruns without using the boost!
Mainly by this specific run of 1-2.
