X Sonic chaos lambent

My laptop can run srb2 pretty well, mods included, I have never had problem running a moded character in the game, until x sonic came in. I don't have problems with him in his base form and dark form, is his super form that destroys my laptop, specifically his chaos lambent move just kills my fps in open areas where the beam can extend it's reach, my fps can drop to literally 1-5 fps, I would think that is is just my laptop being weak or underpowered if not for the fact that my laptop can run hyper mystic sonic and that other people have more trouble running dark sonic than super sonic. idk if it's because my laptop is a macbook and that the beam interacts differently or it's just a bug. is there any setting that I can change to mitigate this issue?

It might help to lower the render distance setting, which would lower the distance at which you see objects. (Specifically objects. It’s not like it adds fog or anything like that.)
The only other things I can think of that would have any actual substantial impact are switching to OpenGL and/or lowering the resolution.

Although, I think I remember an option to turn down the intensity of effects in X Sonic’s menu.
I’m probably just thinking of SMS. I’ll check myself in a little bit.

that clip was captured on OpenGL and I have tried both lowering resolution and the draw distance to the minimum and x sonic doesn't have graphical changes in his menu like SMS.

Is your X Sonic 1.1c? if so then it's a glitch related to srb2 versions that are 2.2.14+, where X Sonic has this issue where he ends up spawning a crap TON of lambents ontop of eachother sometimes, which causes your fps to drop (this is a iirc ofc because I think I remember something like that in a X Sonic changelog in the Shining alpha tests. Either way, I suggest waiting for 1.1d till then, as the build fixes this issue. Mostly.)

Is blue blur even working on a 1.1d? the mod hasn't updated in a year and a half.

blur's being as free as the wind, so I don't know what he's up to. Also yk GoldenShine is the coder right? lol.

Inside the shining alpha tests, or in a random netgame, you're able to get 1.1d or 1.1dSATALPHA which are updated versions of xs that gs made to patch bugs with rails and extra issues. U can ask him for a X Sonic build as well and he wont mind (atleast, I think. He's really chill about this stuff but idrk.)
