If I made a character like Samus for srb2, and she was well-made, would you guys download the character, or reject it because she has nothing to do with Sonic?

Unfortunately, no. I'm still looking at the tutorials of all this stuff. =(

I was wondering, I'm new to all these ROMs, programming languages, this game, how it works, and the other stuff here. Don't get me wrong, I'm working on it, but how long does it take to learn all this stuff?

It didn't take me long to make a wad. I just never released any of my own stuff because it's all so bad.

Well, some of this stuff can be real easy, just as long as you find the right tutorial for this kind of thing.

Character wadding is something that has more to do with the sprites than the wadding itself. Sprites take lots of time. Wadding doesn't.

So as a direct answer, just take a few hours on a Saturday to go through a tutorial. A piece of advice I would like to give out is to read through every word. If it doesn't make sense, go earlier in the tutorial and look at what just happened or just plain reread it. The tutorial knows best, even if you don't quite understand it yet. And if it still doesn't make sense, take it to the forums.

There's no ROMs. Every thing this game uses is editable. It is all compiled in the file named srb2.srb . You can open it with XWE (*click*). However, the data there has the potential to knock your socks off, so just wait a bit.

As for programming, you don't need to worry about that until you try to make a soc.

Thanks! Yeah, I'm going to have to take a Saturday to read the tutorials. I didn't understand some of your post, (mostly the last part) but hopefully I will once I read the tutorials. Thanks again.
