WinTeX isn't working for me. I downloaded it, but every time I start the program, it automatically closes. Help?

Well, you probably will have to do one or all of the following:

1) restart your computer
2) close out all running programs
3) download it again
4) download it from a mirror site

Or something.

WinTex is an old Windows 3.1 program with lots of problems. Whether it works, and to what degree it works, seems to be very dependent on the computer. If it won't run, you're probably screwed, unless you have another computer somewhere to run it on.

Wintex requires the Visual Basic 3 runtimes. Download them from somewhere, and stick them in the Wintex directory, and it should work fine. Getting it to do what you want, however, is a totally different story ^_~
