Well, although all of your puns are funny, guys, it's pronounced like "we" according to the website. However, I'm sure there'll be more puns over that... :wink:

Nintendo screwed up big time. They practicly WANT their fans to sound stupid.

I seriously wish they'd make that the Japanese name only, but knowing Nintendo, this is their requisite screwup for the system. They always make at least one X_X

Wow. You really are stupid to not get a console because of the name. That's like never ggetting SRB2 because it's called cheese.

The art major in me loves the name, and the compsci major in me thinks it sucks.

All toilet humour aside, although my original reaction was of the "WTFOMG" variety (similair to that of the controller) the name has grown on me slightly, allthough I doubt it will help Nintendo in the "casual" gamer market.

They're obviously making a re-entry to the console market with a 256-bit console based on Lindbergh technology, and aren't porting any Lindbergh games to the Xbox 360 and PS3 so that they can have a good line-up.

Wii is a retardedly monstrous name.

Oh, wait. So was Dreamcast. Playstation was utterly ridiculous too. Xbox is freakin' horrible. Game Boy is ATROCIOUS. Nintendo 64 was only good because it was simple and had namebrand power. In fact, I don't think I've played a console whose name I actually liked since the Genesis.

Bad console names are nothing new.

Actually, all of the above names are just different. Not bad. Wii is bad.

And I thought "Dreamcast" sounded uber-awesome :E
 
It just sounds like so many other things..
It could mean "Small", "Yes" ('cept that's two ouis), "Pen fifteen", "Urine".

Dreamcast sounds like.. casting a dream.

That quote was my opinion, and in my opinion, all the names I mentioned were bad. :E

Ugh there were a few good ones. I forgot them.
