Wait, when did that freeze occur? Was it on an elevator or in a transport tunnel? I know that the Metroid Prime engine sometimes freezes when you try to go faster than the game can load.

It was actually as I got in the elevator and pressed the button to make it go up, the screen just went black....

And I thought I was too awesome for it....

Perhaps it was trying to load from a part of disc space that didn't exist.
