its been happening to me for a few days now

It should fix itself eventually. Use this and join via IP in the meantime: https://ms.srb2.org/

If it does not fix itself, check the Master Server Address under Server Options and ensure it matches the one in the link I sent (although this is likely not the issue here).

It is admittedly impossible to read most of the error through the GIF's low resolution. Could you post a screenshot of the console instead?

You're using version 2.2.10. The latest version is 2.2.11. Could you try with the latest version and report what you experience?

Alright, I'll copy & paste what I said to others here then: Could you try to give more details about your error, maybe also details about which computer you're using, what version, exceptional details about your network connection that you can think of, etc.? Are you experiencing any other errors using your computer as well? Maybe it would also help if you could capture this error using Wireshark? I am using the latest version and getting no errors when connecting to the SRB2 master server.
Assuming you're not using Wine (if you don't know what that is, then you're not using it): Please also open a Command Prompt window, type the command curl --version, press Enter, and tell me what you see?

it started a few weeks ago, im using a windows 7 32 bit pc, 2.2.11, the error only shows up on srb2 when trying to host a server and going on the server list, pretty much anything that has to do with selecting rooms

Please download cURL for your computer (cURL is free as in freedom, and shouldn't contain malware), and extract the ZIP archive (don't just open it). In the extracted directory, open the "bin" directory, hold the Shift key on your keyboard, right-click in an empty area inside the directory, and click on "Open command window here" — leave that window open, return to it later. Open SRB2, and try to enter the master server twice (so the error would happen twice); please say what error you get, and please confirm that you're seeing the same error at the second time as with the first time trying. After you confirmed that you still have an error with accessing the master server, close SRB2, and go back to the Command Prompt window from before. Type the following command, press Enter, and tell me what output you get: curl -i --ssl-reqd --tlsv1.2 --cert-status https://mb.srb2.org/MS/0/rooms (You can either copy the entire contents and paste here, or resize the window so the entire output could be seen and screenshot it by pressing Alt+PrintScreen.)

Include the following information in your reply: (1) The errors in the console after trying twice to connect to the master server; and (2) the output of the cURL command from above.

Could you try this command instead? curl -v -k -I --ssl-reqd --tlsv1.2 https://mb.srb2.org/MS/0/rooms
When browsing the forums here on this computer, do you (or did you) get any security errors?

Only after you've done ^^these^^ things first: Do you have an antivirus, parental control software, or any kind of security software or device on your computer or in your network? If you do, could you try to disable them and retry?

turn off the antivirus
Okay so let's try this:
(1) Turn on your antivirus;
(2) Run the command curl -v -k -I --ssl-reqd --tlsv1.2 https://mb.srb2.org/MS/0/rooms in the "bin" directory in the extracted directory of cURL;
(3) Report the output of the command here.

probably its an internet error cuz its only happened to me when i was offline
It's not a connectivity issue. They can reproduce the error by causing it to happen twice without getting different errors, which suggests that there's no flakiness — either the connection is stable-up or it's stable-dead; then his latest cURL output clearly shows that they receive an answer from the server, which further suggests that their Internet connection is stable-up rather than stable-dead.

Watching this closely because this exact issue suddenly became commonly reported in the Discord right before 2.2.11.

im using a windows 7 32 bit pc
The certificate of mb.srb2.org is signed by "GTS CA 2P2" (Google Trust Services Certificate Authority 2P2, valid since October 2022), which is, in turn, signed by "GTS Root R4" (valid since June 2016). "GTS CA 2P2" is listed as "have been created to support direct or indirect certificate issuance" in Google's website. I've also found another discussion about seemingly this issue. Here's what I think:
You're using Windows 7. Microsoft had ended support for Windows 7 for non-businesses in 2020. "GTS CA 2P2" is valid only since October 2022 and should have been generated around the beginning of its validity period, meaning that this certificate was created almost three years after your Windows 7 computer had stopped receiving updates. This certificate is in turn signed by another, older "Root R4" certificate from 2016 which I suspect you don't have installed because Google intend only for the intermediate "2P2" certificate to be installed in end-users' devices. This means that none of the two certificate authorities are installed in your computer, making it not trust the certificate of mb.srb2.org.

@roc Suggested course-of-action for the OP: Update your operating system. I know of a program that can update Windows 7 computers to the latest updates by Microsoft. (Recall me saying that support had ended for non-businesses.) This is an unofficial, third-party program made by a knowledgeable person that has no connection with Microsoft, and it bundles all of the official Microsoft updates along with some other minor tweaks and USB3 support (like preventing the installation of Microsoft advertisements and nag screens for Windows 10/11 and telemetry etc.) and installs all the updates at once, making your computer reboot as many times as necessary automatically to install everything and save you time. I have a little experience with this program myself, I don't remember ever seeing malware/viruses being detected in it, and I would generally trust it. Once you use this program once, your Windows 7 computer will be subscribed to further updates from Microsoft automatically, until Microsoft will end support for businesses as well, so you won't need this program anymore. However, in order to use this program:
  1. You must have Service Pack 1 installed. (The program can automatically also install SP1 if you download and put it alongside the program in the same folder, but then only the installation of SP1 would increase the time it takes the program to work by something like eight more hours. Yes, eight hours. Speaking from experience.) Press Windows+Pause on your keyboard. Under the "Windows edition" heading you should see a mention of Service Pack 1 if it's installed. This is how it should look:
    windows-system-control-panel-window.png
    And…
  2. You must have some disk space available for all the updates. Press Windows+E on your keyboard, open My Computer, and either say how much free space you've got or attach a screenshot.
You can also upgrade your operating system to a better, up-to-date one (either Windows or something else), but I think this is the easiest solution.
