Why Is SRB2 lagging suddenly?

ever since 2.2.11 came out and that fps unlock option thing existed, it has started lagging for me, quite a bit, too. and i have my fps locked at a max of 60
someone please help

you might need to turn it back to 35 (thats whats srb2 was capped at before 2.2.11) some machines cant handle more frames apparently.

i tried that, and it just lagged more..

Try changing the setting to manual 60 FPS cap instead of determining the cap automatically based on the monitor's refresh rate. I noticed a lag too and this is what I did to fix it.
