Why are there barely any multiplayer servers

Can someone explain this to me every time I get in multiplayer there were a few servers from the update why did this occur many people were playing on servers that were up then smaller and smaller I'm still waiting for many servers to be moved to 2.2.14

Some people heard how badly the game was on update and currently refuse to update, Some automated servers probs haven't shown up either because of this or the person (or people) running them isn't available to update the game.

A lot of mods have broke due to the update. The only major server that you can play on is vanilla servers.

The update came out about a week ago, I'm sure that some 2.2.13 servers will migrate to 2.2.14 pretty soon.
