whats's going on with srb2 right now? (actually.) apparently the "master server" is down, and a 2.2.4 link i use isn't working!

The Master Server is not down, some people on outdated operating systems are having connection issues. That can be fixed by changing the "https" in the Master Server address to "http" via the Server Options menu.
The 2.2.4 link you are referring to is an unofficial Web Port maintained by a fan. If it is down, you will have to wait for that fan to put it back up.
