Mine is that if you're a minute late, you get a 40-minute-detention. Regardless if you're a second or two, forget just a minute. Can you imagine it being 8:45:10 am and the teacher says "you're late and you have a 40-minute-detention"? It's so stupid.

I've been graduated for a long time now, but I remember back in the day we had planners that we had to carry around with us every day and record what we did in class in them, and one of the rules was that we had to get the teacher to sign on the back page before they could let us go to the bathroom during class, and we were only allowed two of these per quarter of the year. Otherwise, we were expected to do it during hallway breaks between classes, which sometimes barely even gave us enough time to get to class to begin with if our classes were far enough apart. To be clear, it wasn't like they made us stay in class and have an accident, but we had to do detention after school as punishment if we exceeded our limit.

As I recall, the reasoning for this was because some students were abusing bathroom breaks to skip classes they didn't like. I guess instead of just punishing those students specifically, they decided to just be extra strict with everyone.

I actually have two rules that make no sense.
The first one is that you shouldn't be wearing armbands or anything that has another school's logo, saying that you're "betraying the school". Yet last week we had a band from another school perform for us.
And the next is the most obvious: No hoodies in school, and when you do, it should be having the colours of our school crest or just plain black or white. And this rule just sucks, since some people have different feelings of temperature, meaning that in some cases its cold for one person and for another its not.

I have that bathroom thing too! We always have to sign before going to the bathroom (we could only go 2 times)

Same for my school I have some that are just uprising such as:

-Servring lunch detention for not doing our math work on our computer (i mean if its just work we can do at home but our school if we didnt do at school but we get lunch detention thats just BS)

- getting detention for not where a uniform shirt under

- we cant go on anything else on our computers exept the tabs we are alowed to have open and the teachers have a thing called go gardain where they can look at our screens what we are doing.

-friday detention where we have side lunch where we sit in the side we can't sit in the regular tables and more of friday lunch detention i don't have time to escplain

any way here are some stupid rules our school uses friday detention is the one thats not fair
we also have no phones meaning we get the at the end of the day.
EDIT- and for the bathrooms they close it at a random time wich sucks and they wont let use it for the first 5min's of class normal schools dont do this but for mine wich is a prep school yes they do this is not funny its just sad.
and the teachers would let us go more then 2 times.

I think it may have been the no baseball cap rule because people could "hide drugs under it," a few weeks after I got caught wearing one, we were suddenly allowed to wear them again.

Mine is No phones in school fr fr fr fr fr fr fr fr fr
flip phones weren't even invented yet when I went to school. It was the late 90s and my school was still using old Apple II computers and floppies. The only games for it were edutainment like Carmen Sandiego, Oregon Trail, and Number Munchers. My science teacher had a LaserDisc player for high res images of outer space which was really cool though! As for cell phones, no kid had one back then.

1. You could wear only and ONLY white shirt and jeans ( they did not do a thing for those who broke )
2. Girls should not wear something that make them too attractive/sexy ( guess what, most are built like Nami/Mewtwo in my school like bro they hit puberty so hard, and they insisted )
3. You could not bring phone, games and pc, this one i had to discuss about it because:i needed to do important things outside of school and i wasn't going to my house soon; they had balls to talk shit about my friend, which is blind, for bringing PC. Some students overheared our discussion, spreaded info to others and then threatened them saying they'd take school down regardless of consequences if they didn't exclude or update this rule.
4. No hoods or caps, so they could "identify".
