What would be a good program for creating Custom Sprites?

I've never really known what program people use to create Custom Sprites for Some Character Wads.

I want to know of a good, Easy to use program that can make decent Original Sprites.

I hope I have this in the right topic, Seeing how I'm asking a question related to Character Creation.

Paintshop pro. Or MSPaint if you are looking for something really easy.

I've found that working with sprites means you're using a very small scale. MSPaint works well when editing sprites because it gives you a precise degree of control in the small space.

I use MSPaint. It's simple, but it has all the tools you need, and it's very user-friendly.

MSPanit, paint.net, GIMP, Photoshop, Paintshop, whatever you WANT to use basically.

I personally use MSPaint and PSCS4.

All my charcters are made on MSPaint.

DeluxePaint and mtpaint. However, if you can sample colors fast and quick in it, then pixel painting will be fun. If a click paints a pixel (and not a click DRAG), then it'll be comfortable.

NeoPaint's old (no real improvements since version 3.0), and is a pain for pixel art.
