Hey.

As maybe at best a miniscule amount of you have heard, I'm working on a little miniproject for the mapping contest of June/May. Anyway, I'm trying to make a new character file but it simply won't run at all, even though I followed both tutorials exactly as they were and made sure there was nothing wrong with my S_SKIN lump. I just have no idea how to run it or what the hell I'm doing wrong. Help please?

Do you have the lower-case letter lumps, or did your editor rename them into upper-case ones?

Yep, I have all the lowercase lumps exactly as they should be.

Well, I have no knowledge of how they work, but they run only in multiplayer by going into "Setup Player" and changing your skin. (or using the SKIN console command)

To make them work in 1P, you need a SOC edit.

Wrong. However if you do use them in 1P you need to set off the 'sissy mode" flag first, so the progress you make with the character won't matter either way. Thus SOC is actually the best way to do the job.
