What is your favorite SRB2 mode?

If you have a cable connection like mine, 32 player online is possible. Just don't do it with 56k =)

Har, you wish. Most people can't get past 8 players without lag, and even that's a stretch.

Generally, cable goes from 4-8 players, depending on the quality of the connection.

Mine's pretty good, I once had a download go 5 MB/sec, so maybe I can support 8 or maybe 10, if you want to stretch.

...you mean megaBITS. Not even T3 has 5 megabytes of transfer rate.

Maybe it misread the download speed or something,. As do all downloads, it slowed down some in a few seconds, but was still fast enough to get a 50 MB file downloaded in seconds.

Getting a 50MB file in seconds is next to impossible. Maybe a minute, if you're lucky, a few minutes normally, and 2 or 3 hours on dialup.

Keep in mind, guys, that Windows is running in the background. I'd like to play someone on Linux to see who's is faster. My connection is 256 KBPS, but I have a slow CPU, which accounts for 99.9% of the lag. Theoretically, each player should only take up 6 KBPS, and that's not too bad.

There should be an SRB2 Server operating system! Like, you turn your computer on and it's now a dedicated server!! That would ROCK because you can put 100% of your CPU into the game instead of sharing it with Windows.

Especially considering that pretty much every geek like us has a pc lying around collecting dust. It would be pretty cool to have srb2 dedicated servers.

Dedicated servers are, or used to be, possible. Oh, and using an earlier windows version than ME (bleach) or xp can increase your CPU output a lot. XP uses a good amount of RAM and CPU while doing nothing. Of course, I'd never have something that nasty on my pc, so I only know that from talking to my Com. App. teacher. :D
