Other than SRB2, Sonic Time Twisted for sure.

SRB2. I was pretty hesitant at first, I generally prefer 2d Sonic and the graphics aren't exactly cutting edge but I was pleasantly surprised. It may be one of the best 3d implementations of Sonic and while simple the 3d models go a long way to making things look nice. What really seals the deal is modding, especially characters, and multiplayer.

That said, if Sonic Mania counts as a fan game that's probably my next favorite. Sonic Classic Adventure is also fun... if that even counts since it's basically 1+2 with more characters and options. I guess I'm just a sucker for character selection.
