Listen bro every single time I come back to this sight I see either a person I know and was semi close with (online) or someone else getting banned like how hard is it not to get banned bro. Yes I may have made some stupid post like a year ago we all have those moments but I grew mature unlike some of these guys. Anyways I'ma just give y'all I run down on the people i know who got banned AHEM

Dirk: stole assets
Luigibudd: he was harassing a user and made suicide jokes like what the fuck man?!
Kasumi: being racist even tho I have no idea how it took them that long to find out cuz I still have messages of her calling me slurs but anyways
The offenders: iczers and super potato being creeps

There's probably way more people but I kinda forgot those since it's been awhile but yah how hard is it for y'all to just be normal like I appreciate the normal users on here and respect one another except for bullying users and what not. and let's not even forgot the little kids begging for mods and not being patient like y'all literally closed the x sonic thread because yall had an argument over stupid shit and yall keep posting videos on frontiers sonic even tho the creators want that shit private. Now yall before y'all harass me in the comments I may have either misunderstood something or not give full context so please correct me

This also lead to another member being booted, despite having nothing to do with the situation.

Dirk did not simply constantly ask for access to Ring Racers assets, but also went out of his way to directly trace spritework from both Ring Racers and other indev projects that made the staff team tired of his behaviour and the reason for his ban. That this was done by someone who clearly had a bunch of talent of his own only made it sting more that he was willing to take other people's work instead of showing off his own talent and is why he is presently banned. (Before you ask, yes tracing work and presenting it as your own is stealing art, please do not try to argue that drawing over someone's elses work and presenting it as your own art is the same as drawing it from memory, it was very blatantly tracing.)

Telling people to kill themselves isn't something we're willing to take lightly given the potential risks, but unless it's clear this isn't being used to harass someone we wouldn't typically ban someone for it, especially for making it out of our own community. In this situation, directly pinging a person suicide joke stuff with nothing else nor example of apologizing after the other dude finding it unfunny isn't really acceptable in our eyes, nor has anyone come to his defense for this matter to us, or at least haven't tried to contact us directly about it.

We don't ban people for spurious reasons, and unless someone has done enough for us to outright not want them to ever be in our community, they're more than free to appeal. If a person has forgotten the original context around a ban, there is a reason there is a contact entry in the appeal form for exactly this situation.

Honestly I did say it was a run down plus I haven't been in the srb2 discord nor active in luigibudd server for months now so obviously i forgot most of the context i honestly made this thread because everytime i come back to this site i see more and more people getting banned and drama happening

Normally, if someone traces art its pretty obvious once you put them both of the side-to-side but other then the inherent features of egg-man they barely look similar. However I am not a artist, so this is simply looking for a naked eye.

His sprites were near identical, too much for this to be by accident but a sign of deliberate tracing, this was affirmed by spriters who have more than enough experience for both the RR and SRB2 community staff to agree this was pushing it too far. This also goes iwth him directly harassing people for sprites for other projects which made this beyond simply a coincidence to it being clear that Dirk was not at all willing to respect other people's boundaries.

We're more than aware how much this person hates the "after mentioned person" and are unwilling to hear them at all for this at this case. That doesn't make the ban for Luigibudd unreasonable from all that we've seen though, and we can't dismiss all the evidence given if there's nothing to suggest it wasn't taken out of context in the first place, simply that he cannot be trusted on anything else.

Being like "What is wrong with everyone on this internet community???" demonstrates a lack of understanding of how many people on the internet at large are actually worse than you think.
Communicating through screens with text thins the filter people normally have when speaking face to face, in addition to rarely having
devastating/discouraging consequences if one acts disruptively, removing the motivation to try and be acceptable for some people.
The internet gives people a platform where they can wear a mask and not be afraid of doing crappy things.

What I'm trying to say is that if bad people can be bad, they'll be bad and that shouldn't be a surprise to anyone.

No, typically when you're banned from the OS, you're not banned from the MB or MS unless it's a serious and dire issue. Think of not being banned from the MB or the MS a second chance.

you might be wondering why i can't just disable the comments, the reason why is that i want to allow the good commenters to comment. the video also just feels plain without comments too.

I hate people like this. Outright stealing stuff is bad enough, but CLAIMING it as your own is a whole nother level of bad.

While this is true, it's not enough to motivate most people to do such things which is why the internet is still usable at all. It's a fairly small but often vocal minority who use the internet as a chance to anonymously dunk on other people or worse for no good reason. That being said, while these people are not the majority, their existence at all is good enough reason to be careful who you trust and make it a policy to not give out any important and/or personally identifying information to anyone. Even when someone is just being a jerk or a troll, you also have the option of simply just not engaging with them, which is where the phrase "Don't feed the trolls" comes from. Many of these such individuals are just looking for attention and provoke this through deliberate rage baiting, so the best way to punish them is to deprive them of this by not interacting with them at all. They'll usually quickly grow bored of you and try to find easier targets to satiate their need for attention.

Last I remember, Youtube has a feature that allows you to block particular users from commenting on your videos. You can also set certain words to automatically get comments removed when used, which is useful for keeping profanity out of your comment section but can also be useful in other regards as well. As a final line of defense when all else fails, as the video uploader you should have the power to outright delete any individual comment in your comment section.
