What is a Lump and How do I get rid of it?

When I tried to download a stage it said "31 Lumps". What does that mean? Please help.

Lumps are what make the stage, and (almost) everything in a wad, basically. Nothing to worry about.

OK, but when I tried uploading the stage it wasn't there. I checked all the modes.
