Chao are so much more iconic than coco because of how you can actually interact with chao, koco just took that away from us

don’t blame you. sa1 was my first sonic game (well really it was that steam version of sadx from 2010) and all i did in the chao gardens was induce as much pain as possible

They honestly should have disabled abillities in the chao garden, i remember all those times i tried picking up chao in sa1 only to accidentally spindash them :(

There's various type of chao. Their stats, who take care of them and how they've been taken care can change their evolution. There are also somewhat dlc or something that you can have character chao, like Knuckles Chao, Amy Chao and Tails Chao. (While Sonic Chao can obtain by having Run + Run neutral chao, and Shadow Chao is the same, except it's dark type)
Talking about Chao's life, it's complex. Chao's life starts in egg. When they reached the end, they can either reincarnate into egg, or die disappeared, never be seen again.
