This is another one of my CTF map, and my first lava/Cave themed stage.

I know it's quite small for it's size, but I tried to make it as good as it could. Here's the screenshots.

Last, but not least, the lava pit. To tweak the difficulty a bit higher, I added pumas so it's more of a challenge for some players.

And now for the download link.

Alright, what you need to do.

First I wanted to comment on some cosmetics:

As you can see, the CTFFLG01 and CTFFLG04 textures aren't even to each other across the map, nor are they exactly even on one side. Usually when you use these textures you make only one flag appear, not dozens stacked on top of each other.

Also, the entire map is way too small and linear. Though I have not played this in an actual netgame, its hard to think of how any flag carrier would be able to get across the lava without being shot down effortlessly by anyone with decent aim. This map needs to be at least four times larger, preferably with more places to hide as well.

I thought it was a good idea to use those fireballs as obstacles, however in my opinion, they should be placed in some organized fashion, so getting across the lava is kinda like jumping hurdles. This idea could work, it just needs some polishing.

The stairs on each end of the map are rather annoying, since you cannot simply run up the stairs, you have to jump. If I'm not mistaken, the highest incremental height Sonic can simply walk up is 20, but when I make stairs, I usually do them in 16 fracunit intervals. This makes most of the textures line up relatively cleanly. Yours are 40. If you extend the shoreline out a bit, you can fit an equivalent number of 16 interval stairs there instead, which would improve the flow of this map.

Despite these things, this map is not a bad start. I hope these comments help you out!

The thing is Jazz is that if I did try to increase the size too big, it just doesn't suit the level like it is, but I could try and make it bigger. Yes I made the steps to 40 francunits for a reason, but most likely half the set would be over in a single jump. I'll see if I can make it a tad smaller

The flags I'll do something about that, I forgot to sort that out when I released this.

The Lava is meant to be the key challenge of this map.

Yes, thanks for pointing some things out, but some things could be kpet like it since I have ther plans of updating this map, but for the time and being, thanks for the comment.

Very well, you're the mapper, so the overall size of this map of course is your discretion. Just keep in mind that I made a level 3-4 times as large as this and still got my butt rammed for it being too small.

Glad I could be of assistance.

I did have a try increasing it's size, it can get a bit screwy in some places unless I could quickly revamp it, but copy the exact same design, but much larger, and more hiding places.
