2 projects I have started but will probably never get finished. The first is a class based FPS/TPS in the same vein as hexen, but with RPG elements and varying themes(Steampunk, Eastern, Etc). I'll post more about the other one later.
The games industry are no longer about bright ideas, it's about milking the profit out of the lowest common denominators. As it tries to be more like the movie industry, there is a bigger thicker line dividing over-produced corporate cookie cutter (aka. "game of the year") and independent games. There used to be a time when both had marketed in the same area that indies didn't even need to be labeled as such like it is today.
This isn't the '90s anymore. No amount of good ideas and design documents will solve the blind evil publisher problem.
