Apparently the court found YouTube was protected under the DMCA Safe Harbor, so it wasn't so much a ruling based on Fair Use, as was hoped. (Unless another article suggests otherwise.)

Yeah, uh, guys, the clause they were found innocent through means that they can't be held liable for our copyright infringement if they actively remove all the content in question. So essentially, nothing changes. All that happens is Viacom doesn't get a boatload of money for free.
