Vanilla (V)Game: Prev models in SRB2 2.2

I have a question, is it possible to use past SRB2 Models, like (idk) 1.0 models (if they exist), or SRB2 2.1 models in Sonic Robo Blast 2 2.2.6? If not, is it because of palette, if they work then thank you bc i wanna get SRB2 2.1 models for SRB2 2.2
