Unable to launch from desktop/files

I'm brand new to the game and using a pc in general so this is probably on my end but whenever i try and launch the game it says that there are some files not found.
(libgme.dll discord-rpc.dll libcurl.dll SDL2.dll)
It also says that reinstalling may work. I have tried this and it does work, but only once, then does the same error messages.
Any help?

Have you moved the exe?
Create a shortcut and put it on the desktop instead of moving the exe file

If you downloaded the game using the ZIP archive instead of the installer, make sure you extract all the files from it instead of running srb2win.exe straight out of the ZIP.

thanks the both of you, i was running the exe not the shortcut because my genius knows no bounds
should i delete the thread?
