in game. it says in the manual "press the ' button to do a light dash (only if sa mode is on)"
or something like that.

You can "fake" SA-mode.

In single player, you can turn on devmode,then type "lightdash on" and "homing on."

that would be helpful if i knew what devmode was....

edit: oh, i think i know, you type devmode on the console(pressing ` )
and then all that text apperars on the screen when your playing.

oh wait, i figured it out. while playing as sonic, press ` and the console will appear. type devmode and a buncha text will appear at the right. now, with the console still open, type "lightdash on", press enter and then type "homing on". press enter again and then type devmode again to get rid of the text. now you can do the light dash and home in on enemys :)
